We were greeted on arrival by very welcoming and professional staff. Our table looked into the kitchen which was such fun to see the chefs at work, and watch them preparing our food. Incredible fresh ingredients, excellent presentation and the food was simply divine. Every dish was exceptional from the salmon and gazpacho to start, and the rabbit, squid, and cod for our mains. “ We were welcomed like old friends on our most recent visit which is always rather uplifting! This time we tried the weekday lunchtime "house" menu, which changes weekly and offers a choice of three starters, three main courses and then either the dessert of the day or coffee. It includes filtered water (although we pushed out the proverbial boat and chose sparkling) homemade bread (with excellent olive oil for dunking) - and a drink (choose between a glass of either their jolly decent house wine - and beer). All for a very reasonable €22. There are two other "tasting" menus with 5 (€33 - which we can also recommend) and 7 (€45) courses. We chose the green tomato and tuna salad to begin with, a vast whole (ripe) tomato (thoughtfully peeled and cut into wedges) smothered with green sauce and bonito. V tasty. My main of battered (as in covered with batter) corvina came in a pan with thinly sliced sauteed spuds and was piping hot and tasty. My companion's rice with rabbit was equally tasty but rather a meagre portion. We were advised by our knowing waiter to opt for pud rather than coffee (which one of us ordered separately afterwards). It was "torreja", a Spanish version of French toast, generously creamy and cinnamony, and with a crunchy bruléed sugary topping. It was accompanied by deliciously creamy homemade ice cream. It was excellent advice! We'll be back! ”

“ When abroad, I feel like the general taste of food has a shift towards the native population, an adjustment in salinity or sweetness or overall profile, and typically am just "fine" with most culinary experiences that I know aren't catered directly to my palette. In the case of Borg, they shattered my expectations for a normal or even a grand meal. Food: each course was thoughtful. Sometimes playful, sometimes, unique, and always delicious. I don't consider myself an eggplant aficionado, and yet the bite of pepper eggplant was casually superb. It made me question every occasion in my past life when I did not seek out ALL of the eggplant. The tortilla was phenomenal. My brother in law has continually endeavored to convince me that tortilla is superb, and I keep being underwhelmed.. but here? This tortilla was phenomenal. I don't like to heap praise because it can come across as insincere and lack an air of genuine earnestness, but we just had a fabulous experience. The food was luxurious, playful, and a raw delight. Also, I'm not a seafood person in general, but one of our party had the grilled squid/fried squid dish which was generously decorated with a garlic herb blend which he described as his favorite thing he'd eaten in Spain to date. Service: phenomenal. Overall: strong recommendation if you are interested in an experience you won't forget. Truly a remarkable find. ”
